Betty Friedan Compares American Housewives With Nazi Concentration Camp Inmates in Book That Ignited Second Wave Feminism 1963

Betty Friedan in The Feminine Mystique compares housewives to concentration camp inmates in her book that ignited second wave feminism:

"the women who 'adjust' as housewives, who grow up wanting to be 'just a housewife,' are in as much danger as the millions who walked to their own death in the concentration camps"

The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan pg 423

The statements in this book are so outlandish and childish that I really am shocked anyone took this book seriously.
