A White Woman, Falsely Accuses 5 Black Men of Rape 1960 Ft. Leonardwood Mo. Almost Starts Race Riot

Wanda Lou Landis, a white woman, falsely accused 5 black men of rape to disguise the fact that she was drinking and sleeping around with a group of National Guardsmen in Ft. Leonardwood Mo. in 1960 while her husband was deployed to Germany. this false rape claim created serious animosity in some of the white people living there towards black people and could have started a race riot.
