Until Recently it Was Illegal for Fathers to be in Delivery Room With Baby's Mother During Childbirth

It was illegal in most states as late as 1960 for a father to be present in the delivery room to support his wife/girlfriend and see his child born. The following articles are from several city newspapers from the time period 1960-1979 reporting on the issue. In one of the reports a father chains himself to his wife to prevent himself from being removed from the room and in another a couple has to leave the state of Florida just so the father can be present at the child's birth.
