Women Utilize Social Media More Than Men

         "Cyber Violence Against Women" was a UN panel where professional damsels Anita Sarkeesian and Zoey Quinn took stage in order to put on a full display of histrionics equating online bullying and sexual harassment of women with physical violence. We have already posted on how men are the ones who actually receive most harassment and death threats, while the category where women are mostly the victims of sexually motivated harassment, is the minority of the percentages of all online aggression. 


And just as a catch, if women really were suffering from personal and physical injuries, why is it then, women outnumber men when it comes to using social media; specially when the evidence shows women are sharing more about their personal lives and connecting personally with people, while men tend to be more private and use social media towards their own ambitions?

Men and women have varying degrees of online activity across different sites. 74% of internet users are using social media, with women (76%) having a slight edge over men (72%):

Women also report having a higher percentage than men utilizing Mobile versions of Social Networking apps; men comprising 39% of users and women 41%:                                demographics of social networking on mobile phones

       According to data by Women in Social Media, women are the majority of users of most social networking sites, while men use more media that advances their own interests in their professions and careers like LinkedIn:
